The Chlamydia and Gonorrhoeae urine test utilizes nucleic acid amplification technology to check for the presence of either of these two types of bacteria in your urine. Unlike other tests for these bacteria, a urethral or vaginal swab is NOT required. Such invasive swabs can be painful and uncomfortable, because you can't swab yourself.
